| Everyone takes
away a positive experience due to
the process that we use and the
skill of our facilitators. The ropes
course challenges individuals
to move out of their comfort zone
whilst at the same time providing
a powerful vehicle for building
trust and support within the team.
The low elements are used to build
confidence and provide the opportunity,
at a perceived safe height, for
delegates to become familiar with
and practice the techniques required
to successfully negotiate the high
elements. In undertaking the high
elements (12 m above ground) we
follow the philosophy of “Challenge
by Choice” and no one is forced
to go beyond a height of their own
choosing.
Individuals set their own goals.
However, such is the power of the
process that very, very few individuals
fail to set challenging targets
that take them beyond their comfort
zones. Even those with a genuine
and very real fear of heights find
themselves climbing higher than
they would have imagined possible.
There is no sense of failure for
those who do not climb. There are
real and meaningful support roles
within the team. In this respect
the ropes course
provides many parallels and metaphors
to the way in which individuals
and teams respond to challenges
in the work place.
All protective and safety equipment
is provided for the activities.
Previous experience is not required,
the activities are suitable for
both male and female participants,
and do not require above average
levels of fitness or physical strength. |
