Why capture game?

The trading of wild animals is a multi million rand industry among owners of game and this, in itself, contributes to conservation. Thousands of animals are captured and relocated, thus preventing overpopulation and inbreeding, as part of all-important breeding programs, which increase population numbers and preserve species. Game capture as an element of wildlife management, is an essential element of scientific wildlife conservation. Large numbers of wild animals are darted and captured each year to be tagged, translocated and/or fitted with radio tracking devices.
