Dream Team Catalyst firmly believe that 1+1=3 and weave messages of the value of synergy in to most of their offerings. Last week however they made sure that the whole was greater than the sum of the parts by combining 2 of Catalysts most popular and powerful programs to produce an amazing event that hit the bulls eye of achieving client objectives whilst exceeding expectations.
The client, leaders in digital connectivity wanted a kick-off event that would remind the team of 140 pax (with many new members) that collaboration, out-of-the-box thinking and focus are key to their continued business success.
To create more complexity with our already challenging Beat The Box activity we included a series of problem solving tasks on our versatile Go Team platform and loaded this custom game on to iPads and we gave 1 to each team. Each team them had to allocate human resources to 2 distinct projects; opening the boxes and cases and working through a series of tasks in a virtual digital game. These 2 projects were designed to converge and a dependency on one another was built in to achieve the end goal of stopping the countdown timer before the time elapsed. The end result was 10 teams, each further split in to two sub teams being totally engaged and energised as they battled to make sense of the chaos, knowledge gaps and complexity of the task at hand. As each of the sub teams solved problems and discovered information and shared with their partners the task became a little easier but with the clock ticking down the pressure was palpable! Then as all 10 teams realised that they shared the same goal and that collaboration wasn’t just desirable but essential everything came together and the stress of nail-biting countdown was relieved with fist-pumping, high-fiving and back-slapping as the countdown clock was stopped with just less than 2 minutes to spare!
Mission accomplished for the client and Dream Team Catalyst!
